Traditional high-voltage power transmission methods mostly use high-voltage overhead lines or high-voltage cable lines as transmission channels, and their respective advantages, disadvantages, and applicable scopes are well-established.
A new high-voltage power transmission method-overhead cables-has emerged, falling between overhead conductors and underground cables. Overhead cables are widely used in the renovation of old urban power grids. Shanghai has taken the lead by using over 100 kilometers of 1-10kV overhead cables. Major cities and tourist destinations such as Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenyang, Wuhan, and Dalian have also adopted a significant number of imported and domestically produced overhead cables. Cable manufacturers are also actively researching and developing this new and popular product. Leading companies such as Samsung Medical have invested over 2 billion yuan in R&D over the past five years, driving product upgrades towards higher value-added areas. Another company, Xinya Cable, has products used in power, rail transit, construction engineering, new energy, and intelligent manufacturing equipment.
