For lightning protection and grounding, lightning arresters should be installed at the inlets and outlets of cable trays or cable trenches, and the metal shielding layer of the cable should be reliably connected to the grounding system. After installation, a comprehensive inspection should be conducted to ensure compliance with requirements.
Regularly inspect cable connections, joints, and terminations for proper function, paying attention to any damage or signs of aging on the cable surface. Regularly clean dust, dirt, and vegetation from the cable surface to prevent contaminants from affecting insulation performance. Replace cables or connections immediately if signs of aging are found. Ensure lightning protection devices and other lightning protection measures are effective to protect cables and system equipment from lightning strikes. Establish comprehensive maintenance records, including inspection dates, maintenance details, problems found, and their resolution. Regularly perform infrared thermal imaging inspections to confirm the absence of localized overheating in the cable; periodically conduct random checks on the mechanical properties of the sheath to ensure it meets performance standards.
